Each Learning TV Show is built on our Blended Matrix™ instructional design concept. Blended Matrix™ was inspired by the principals of Learning Organizations, Crew Resource Management, High Reliability Organizations, and Performance Improvement. You’d expect nothing less from a “what box?” idea like Learning TV Shows.


 

Something Borrowed and True

What follows may sound suspiciously like horn tooting and name dropping but we are simply giving credit where credit is due. Crew Resource Management (CRM) was originated at NASA’s Ames Research Center. The principles of Learning Organizations were documented by Peter Senge in his book, The Fifth Discipline. The concepts used by High Reliability Organizations (HROs) are practiced by companies whose business is so dangerous that even the smallest mistake could result in loss of life (airlines, nuclear power plants). And Performance Improvement principles like recognition, rewards and incentives are used daily by many a wise organization the world over.


All we’re attempting to do is take the best of all these wonderful worlds and blend them into a secret sauce of our own humble design. If we are improving or daring to innovate, we are doing so by standing on the “shoulders of giants” who’ve gone before.
